Matt Grabeel CPA, QKA

Matt founded Tennessee Pension Administrators in 1998 after practicing as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a retirement plan consultant for 14 years. He now has over 30 years of experience in consulting, retirement plan design and administration, sales and marketing, and general business management. Matt continues to maintain an active CPA license as well as a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) professional designation. He is active in the daily operations of the business and focuses primarily on client consulting and strategic vision for the company. Matt enjoys outdoor sports, especially bicycling and hiking. He is active with his family, friends and community and has a new perspective on life after recently becoming a grandfather.

Sheila Young

Sheila is a Partner and Plan Consultant for Tennessee Pension Administrators and has 30 years experience in the industry. She acts as a Technical resource for Plan Sponsors, Staff, Advisors, and Auditors and helps support new business development. She leads the firm with obtaining goals and assist in the implementation of processes and procedures necessary for success. Her main focus is administration processes, documentation, compliance testing, contribution calculations and annual filing preparation. She is responsible for managing the entire plan-level process to ensure plan design and operations meets regulatory compliance standards and deadlines. Sheila is also responsible for implementing strategic goals to ensure effectiveness and mages a team that provides administrative support to clients. She is an active member of ASPPA and is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Sheila enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and hiking with her dog.

Daniel McWhirter

Daniel is a partner and Plan Consultant at Tennessee Pension Administrators. He is nearing 20 years of experience in retirement plan administration. Daniel works with annual reporting, plan design, consulting and compliance. Daniel assists in maintaining relationships with retirement plan advisors to provide support in client retention and new business development. Internally, he works with the team at TPA to develop procedures and efficiencies to best service clients and their needs. Daniel graduated from the University of Tennessee and also spent a year teaching high school. He enjoys time with family, friends, playing golf, fly-fishing, and is an avid sports fan.

Kim Miller, QKA

Kim Miller is a Plan Consultant at TPA and is responsible for managing all aspects of retirement plan administration and compliance testing for an assigned caseload. She also assists with onboarding all new and conversion clients and handles all Plan Document related items.  Kim has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Illinois State University. Kim has worked in the pension industry for the past twenty years, mostly with third party administrations firms; however, also with bundled service providers. Working with both types of firms has provided her with valuable insights in regards to best practices that work well to meet individual client's needs. Kim took several exams earning her Qualified 401(K) Administrator (QKA) destination with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) in 2002. She has served on the Advisory Committee for the ASPPA Cincinnati Regional Conferences since 2014 and is currently the chair for the 2018 ASPPA Cincinnati Regional Conference, which is one of only two regional conferences currently offered through ASPPA. Kim is married to Tennessee alum, Eric Miller, who works as an area forester for the state of TN. They have one son, Ethan who attends Sacred Heart Cathedral School.

David King, QKA

David grew up in West Knoxville with outdoors and sports being important parts of his life. He attended Farragut High School and played baseball for the Admirals. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics, with a minor in engineering and economics from Tennessee Tech University. David obtained a part-time job with a Knoxville based TPA firm that quickly turned into a full-time job. He enjoyed the workings of retirement plans so much that he wanted to deepen his understanding of plan design, testing, and operations so he became of member of ASPPA, ultimately obtaining his QKA certification. David lives in South Knoxville close to IJAMS and Bakers Creek, which he utilizes as much as possible with his wife Shauna, and son Nathaniel. The couple has a German Shepard dog named Oliver and a cat named Storm.

Jill Wyatt

Jill is a Plan Administrator at TPA responsible for the day-to-day administration of defined contributions plans, as well as overseeing the distribution and loan department. Jill is a "Navy brat" who has lived all over the country as well as Japan and Germany. Jill is a military veteran herself having served as her battalion legal clerk while serving in the Army. After serving in the military, Jill became an office manager at a pension firm in San Diego and began developing a basic knowledge of pension plans, and from there worked her way up to the position of Plan Administrator at that firm before relocating to Knoxville to be closer to family. When not working Jill enjoys spending time with friends, family, her small herd of dogs, and reading.

Cody Grabeel

Cody is Client Service Representative at TPA and handles all distribution related inquiries. He attended Christian Academy of Knoxville and has his Associate's Degree in Marketing from Pellissippi State Community College. Although new to TPA, he is steadily learning all aspects of retirement plans and client relations. He spends most of his available time with his wife, Kelsey, who works as a Consumer Health Librarian at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Medical Center. Both he and his wife "bleed" orange: and have been season-ticket holders at Neyland Stadium for five years.

Jennifer Rogers

Jennifer is a Client Service Coordinator with Tennessee Pension Administrators acting as the primary contact for Plan Sponsors and Plan Advisors. She is responsible for the day-to-day processing of plan administration support for Consultants and Senior Administrators. She also supports Onboarding processes, publishes and e-files 5500's, Non-technical 3(16) administrative support, and help manage our Client Database. She has been with Tennessee Pension Administrators since 2000, starting as an Administrative Assistant and then transitioning to Daily Record-Keeping and now to her current position in client services. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and especially with her two granddaughters, as well as working in her yard.

Kristi Cupp

Kristi is a Client Service Coordinator and has been working in the retirement plan business for 25 years. She provides support to the administrators, helps with plan documents, and daily office administration. She graduated from Pellissippi State Community College with an Associate's Degree in Office Systems Technology and Management. Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and attending her three sons sporting events.

Tyler Smith

Tyler joined Tennessee Pension Administrators in 2011. He transitioned from a daily operations and transaction settlement record keeper to a Client Service Coordinator for over 100+ plans within the firm. Tyler graduated from Strayer University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Marketing concentration. Tyler strives to provide exceptional administrative support to both Plan Administrators and Plan Sponsors on a wide variety of topics. Tyler is a newlywed and his wife, Miriam, is a Registered Nurse at Parkwest Medical Center. Tyler enjoys Tennessee athletics, Atlanta Braves baseball, hunting & fishing.

 

Greg mcmurry

Greg is the Chief Operating Officer of Tennessee Pension Administrators . He began working with the company in 2017 and is responsible for marketing, financials, and operations.

Greg is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BS in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. He has over twenty five years experience in operations, marketing, and brand management.

Greg is involved in a variety of recreation programs throughout the community and has been an active part of the development of girls basketball in the East Tennessee area. Greg was co-founder and served on the board of the Tennessee Fury AAU basketball program. He was also Tennessee Fury Program Director.  Greg serves on the board of the Willayne Towe Foundation, which supports small local charities that serve children.

Greg and his wife, Missy, are life-long Knoxvillians and currently live in Lenoir City.
